It will have 16 advanced classes! all with their own specific skills and abilities, some also changing what kind of armor and weapons you can use.

The first class on the chopping block is... Sith Warrior.

In on our first picture we see the Sith Marauder, a dual-wielding lightsaber dps aholic.

This class will follow along the lines of Darth Maul.

Second up we see the Sith Juggernaut which will be the damage taker, the meat shield, the tank.

This Juggernaught will mimic the ways of Darth Vader.

Finally we have just a look of what the skill tree might look like, you can't read much on it but it does look like you can only pick from one tree or the other, so no splitting up your skills points. There does look to be a general tree you can put some leftover skills into at the bottom.

One thing to note is that, each advanced class will still remain on their beginner class quest, no matter what their chosen advanced class is.

One of these questions, still asked today, is whether or not massively multiplayer environments should strive to be games or to be worlds.

So what will The Old Republic be?:

I've long advocated that moderation is the way to go, and I believe on The Old Republic we are successfully traveling a middle path, a centrist path that takes the strengths of both: provide a directed and balanced game experience inside a lush, free-form Star Wars world.

From a very literal interpretation this could simply mean having that "move from point A to point B" feeling but to also have some free movement outside of it. The easiest way to give a "directed" feeling in the open world would be through scripted events... lots and lots of scripted events, maybe throw in some timed interval events or some player triggered ones but it all comes down to scripts.

How many is too many? Sometimes you just want to get some of those mundane tasks done and over with without being attacked or just not wanting to save someone being mugged in an alley(Ever play City of Heroes?). Can there be too many? Maybe that's what new age mmo's will all come down to, having the game play itself and just taking you along for the ride. Time will tell.
