Made an alt last night to help catch a guildy up to my Conqueror in AoC, took some pictures enjoy!

I went with the conqueror class, yeah don't know much about them but here he is with some scenery lol.

Looking for a new mmo

So I've just been raiding these past few weeks in WoW, and we basically finish within 3 days and I've really been itching to play something new. So I've decided to look at some of the major ones.

The first one that peaked my interest and from word of mouth seemed like the coolest, Warhammer Online:

First impressions.. loved the community quests, what they are quests that you automatically join others when you enter special parts of the map. The combat aspect of pvp seemed alright, basically button mashing in giant herds of people holding flags and what not. Graphically I thought it would be better coming out after WoW, but it looks very simillar. Apparently they also screwed up their billing system and charged everyone multiple per month charges all at the same time, some people getting charged 30+ times all at once, thus causing bank problems if they didn't have that much in the account.

Next I thought I'd try Age of Conan seeing as how they have an expansion coming up they haven't abbandoned the game which is kinda the impression I got with War.

This one I haven't gotten too far in yet, but it seems to be pulling ahead of the pack at the moment. The biggest thing over all the MMO's at the moment is the combat, no more auto-attack...kinda. Every character has 3 directional arrows left, forward and right which when you press swings your weapon in that direction, you need this because every character also has a directional defense. To maximize your damage you have to swing where they aren't defending, later on I believe you get 3 more arrows which swing behind and at your flanks for those multi npc encounters. All your special class abilites instead start combos which you follow up with directional swings or I'm guessing other special abilities.

Next is the graphics, which are awesome...this is an M rated game so there is tons of gore and nudity. Also occasionaly in combat you may perform a fatality... think Mortal Kombat, with heart through chest grabbing action a plenty.

I was planning on trying out Lord of the Rings Online today but... I looked at some player videos and well, the graphics also look about on par with WoW/War and about the same combat. So I don't really feel compelled to give it a whirl, so I won't =).

So.... off to AoC! We'll see how long it'll hold me.
